The rapid growth of infrastructure projects increases the demand for efficient and integrated project management. Building Information Modeling (BIM) has emerged as a digital approach to improve coordination, information integration, and decision-making throughout the project lifecycle. This study aims to review the implementation and development of BIM in infrastructure projects based on selected international journal articles. A qualitative literature review method was applied using five peer-reviewed international journals, and the data were analyzed through qualitative content analysis and thematic analysis. The results show that BIM implementation significantly improves coordination and collaboration among stakeholders, while its effectiveness is strongly influenced by organizational readiness and the level of BIM maturity. The integration of BIM with supporting technologies such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and terrestrial laser scanning further enhances BIM capability for infrastructure planning, asset management, monitoring, and maintenance. At the industry level, BIM adoption continues to increase, but its implementation remains uneven with limited regulatory support. This study concludes that sustainable BIM development requires synergy between technology, organization, and institutional support.
